Prarthana Engineering Pvt. Ltd., (PEPL) came into existence in 1996 as a manufacturer of centrifugally cast cylinder liners. The fledgling unit received its first major boost, when, impressed by its quality, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd, placed a bulk order. From then on there has been no looking back and we have grown to be one of the most reputed manufacturers of cylinder liners for diesel engines. Our esteemed customers are Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd, Kirloskar Pneumatic Co. Ltd., R.P.C. Power India Ltd., Shimoga Piston Ring Pvt. Ltd. Development of other liners for leading OE manufacturers is also under progress.

The rapid growth of Prarthana is attributed in large measure to the professionalism and expertise of the promoters who established full fledged manufacturing facilities coupled with quality assurance equipments. The casting facilities are balanced by finish machining equipment that enables us to ensure dimensional accuracy to customer specifications. The foundry is also equipped with in-house power generation facilities for non-stop production.

Prarthana has acquired high precision machineries such as plateau honing machine of Nagel during the period of 2007, to achieve Euro norms such are Rmax - 14 mu, Rz – 3-8 um, Rpk – 0.4 um max, Rk – 0.3-1.5 um, Rvk – 1-3 um, Mr1 – 10% max, Mr2 – 70-80%, Ra – 0.6 um max. This Plateau honed liners are supplied to Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Pune and other US and UK customers.

Unit is proposed to have expansion for machine shop by acquiring another plateau honing machine, CNC Induction hardening machine and vertical boring machine etc. Unit has developed fin liners, induction hardened liners and other special liners.

Quality control has been the integral part of our manufacturing process. Inspections at every stage from raw material procurement to finish stage are conducted to ensure end-product quality. In process materials that are rejected are colour coded and subjected to close study to upgrade process quality. Every batch s subjected to chemical, physical and metallurgical tests to ensure compliance with the customer specifications.
